Hello!

It’s been a really hot day!

I want to eat something refreshing on a hot day.
Ice cream, shaved ice, and chilled barley or somen noodles come to mind when I think of refreshing foods.

Cold noodles such as based barley or somen are good, but vinegared rice is also good.
Sushi!”, a combination of vinegared rice and sashimi is a dish that naturally makes you eat it even when you don’t have an appetite.

Higashine is an inland region, so there is no ocean around, but there are several restaurants that serve delicious sushi.

Some people are lured by the convenience of “kaiten-zushi” when it comes to sushi these days, but the piling up of plates can be surprisingly painful on the wallet.

So, when we heard about the delicious one-coin lunch at Sushi and Restaurant Daikoku, we decided a visit.

In fact, this is one of the restaurants I have yet to visit even though I live in Higashine City, and I was looking forward to it because the sushi restaurant’s lunch menu is quite appealing to me…

In addition to sushi, ramen and rice bowls are also available, so there is no need to worry if someone in your family does not like raw food.

I usually keep my lunches out to 700 yen or less, except for special occasions, such as going out to lunch with family or friends.

Due of my wallet situation, I had made up my mind to have the daily special that day. This is because it is a menu item that is highly rated on SNS sites. Lunch is 500 yen for such a large portion, which is quite a good deal.

It’s a great price.

Focus on fresh ingredients and provenance

Since Higashine City has no ocean, you are worried about whether you can eat fresh and delicious fish.

Sushi and Restaurant Daikoku wants Higashine City residents to enjoy fresh, delicious fish, so they often purchase fish from Shiogama and Shonai.

Shiogama and Shonai are home to delicious seafood. Shiogama offers delicious tuna, while Shonai offers delicious squid, shrimp, shellfish, and salmon. You can see how particular they are about the place of origin.

The volume was really more than enough for me!

The fish of the day was Saba (mackerel) and Isaki (chicken grunt). I am not a special fish expert, but I was a little surprised at the texture.

The rainy season was just about to end at that time, but I wonder if the time of year had anything to do with it. The miso soup also contained fish and had the best flavor.

I never got tired of eating it.

Sushi and Restaurant Daikoku’s popular menu item is “Oyakodon at Sushi Restaurant.”

By the way, the most frequently ordered menu item is “oyakodon at sushi restaurants.

Delivery Menu

Children who love Ikura (salmon roe) will love it. It’s a “sushi restaurant oyakodon” because the salmon tataki is included together.

The price is 800 yen, but if you think of it as a bowl of ramen, this price and volume will satisfy you.

Note that in addition to the “sushi restaurant oyakodon,” ramen is also popular. Some people do not like raw food, so it is nice to have a variety of menu choices.

Sushi restaurant? Restaurant?

The restaurant was originally a Western-style restaurant, and the name “Sushi and Restaurant Daikoku” is a remnant of those days.

They used to serve Western food as well! Come to think of it, the chairs and tables look somewhat Western.

Why a restaurant when it is a sushi restaurant? I had wondered, but that’s what it was.

By the way, I was curious why “Sushi and Restaurant Daikoku” started a sushi restaurant as well as a restaurant, so I asked them.

According to the owner, Mr. Sato, “My father was a sushi chef,” and the idea was to offer sushi in addition to ramen and set menus in order to make it a family-friendly restaurant.

Sushi nigiri and know-how have been passed down from generation to generation, and it can be said that we are the originators of a variety of menus including ramen, set menus, and sushi before the current revolving sushi and Japanese restaurants became widespread.

Introducing the atmosphere of the restaurant

When visiting a restaurant for the first time, besides the taste and price, you are also concerned about the atmosphere.
So, with the permission of “Sushi and Restaurant Daikoku,” we would like to introduce some photos of the restaurant.

The entrance to the restaurant is located right at the top of the stairs.

The restaurant is located next to the Shiromizu River and you can dine with a view of the river. It is on the second floor and on the side of the river, so the view is very open.

Introduction of the owner

After our lunch, we interviewed Mr. Takato Sato.

Back view of the owner

Mr. Sato likes to eat ramen at soba and enjoys fishing. He likes Higashine because it is an easy place to live without any inconvenience. His bright yellow Kappa T-shirt was impressive.

Take-out orders, which were high during the self-restraint period, have calmed down a bit, and recently they have been receiving more requests for delivery.

Many families visit the restaurant, and Ms. Sato’s daughter sometimes plays with the customers’ children at the restaurant.

It may be difficult to get together now, but anyone can hold banquets, etc., so why not come and visit?

Finally, Mr. Sato has a message for those who read this blog. “We also have a kids’ space, so you can bring your children with you. Please feel free to come!”

Thank you for your willingness to be interviewed.
