Have you ever been to a snack bar? Many of you may feel that it is intimidating. However, snack bars are actually homey social gatherings for adults where you can casually enjoy drinks and conversation. This time, we will introduce “Snack CHA・CHA・CHA” in Yamagata City, which is safe and recommended for first-time visitors!

What is Snack CHA・CHA・CHA like?

As soon as you enter the store, you’ll hear voices welcoming you.
“Snack CHA CHA CHA” is located in Senami, Yamagata City, Yamagata Prefecture, about a 4-minute walk from Higashikanai Station. The shop is run as a hobby by a dandy husband and his lively and beautiful wife. The shop has separate business styles for day and night, and please note that food items are only available during the day, except for desserts!
The store has a large table with sofa seats, counter seats, and a karaoke space, providing ample space and seating. The friendly atmosphere means you’ll be warmly welcomed even if you just drop in alone!

Reasonable all-you-can-eat plan and 3-item set!

The standard way to enjoy yourself is to order the 120-minute “all-you-can-drink and all-you-can-sing plan.”
The price (including tax) is 3,000 yen for men and 2,000 yen for women, and includes a three-item set that includes a generous selection of snacks, all-you-can-drink alcohol, and all-you-can-sing karaoke.

Visitor: “This plan is pretty cheap.”
Owner’s wife: “This is a place for everyone to relax, so we’re running it mostly as a hobby.”

From what I’ve heard, there’s a plan called “Daytime Karaoke” during the day, where you only have to pay for drinks and the karaoke is free. You can also bring your own food. You can tell the couple are looking forward to interacting with their customers.
Now let’s take a look at what it’s actually like!

Hearty homemade snacks that change daily!

When you order, the first thing you’ll be served is five hearty homemade snacks. On this day, there were a lot of Western-style dishes, such as quiche and pazza. I can’t introduce everything, but the quiche has a gentle and refined flavor, and the pazza has a strong flavor that goes well with alcohol. Depending on the day, seafood may be the main dish, and sometimes pasta is also served. It’s clear that they’ve made an effort to keep you from getting bored!

Visitor: “By the way, ma’am, do you have desserts in the evening?”

Owner’ wife: “Actually, my daughter prepares some homemade chiffon cake for us. We make some available in the evening.”

Visitor: “I’d love to try that!”

The chiffon cake was a reasonable 200 yen, and it was fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness, making it the perfect palate cleanser!

Highly concentrated drink menu

What surprised me most was that the alcohol content of the drinks served was quite strong. However, it’s not so strong that it’s difficult to drink, so you can enjoy it with peace of mind. The all-you-can-drink plan offers a full selection of 33 alcoholic drinks and 9 soft drinks, and you can also order them individually. This is a great lineup for when you want to drink a lot, or when you just want to enjoy a light meal.

Visitor: “Can I order a drink that’s not on the menu?”
Owner: “If you want a cocktail, just tell me your favorite combination and I’ll make it for you.”

Even if you want an original cocktail that is not on the menu, the bartender will shake it up for you. This is a great point for cocktail lovers. I ordered the classic Salty Dog, and the fresh aroma was a perfect match with the bitter and salty taste of Campari, which was very delicious!

To be honest, this was only my third time going to a snack bar, so it’s a genre of place that I’m still not very familiar with.
However, thanks to the friendly atmosphere of the couple who run it and the easy-going attitude of the regulars, I was able to enjoy my drinks without feeling nervous, even though it was my first time!
