With March upon us, spring is gradually approaching.
There is still snow in some places, but many people are looking forward to cherry blossom viewing in the warm sunshine.
It may be a little premature, but today we will introduce some spots in Murayama City where you can easily view cherry blossoms.
Please use this as a reference if you would like to prepare for cherry blossom viewing this year.

What is the cherry blossom tree-lined street in front of Murayama Station?

The row of cherry trees in front of Murayama Station is located along the Osawa River on the west side of the station.

You can enjoy cherry blossom viewing close to the station!

Leave the west exit of Murayama Station and walk straight ahead for about 100m until you come across a row of cherry trees on either side of the station west bridge.
It’s about a one-minute walk to the spot, so you can enjoy cherry blossom viewing right after leaving the station.
You can also stop by to view the cherry blossoms while waiting for your train after sightseeing.

Easy access by car

It is also easily accessible by car, located about 1 minute from National Route 13 and about 5 minutes from Murayama IC.

This is the row of cherry trees in full bloom!
The cherry blossoms stretch for about 250 meters, creating a spectacular sight.
There is a promenade on one side, so you can take a leisurely stroll while listening to the murmuring of the river.

There are rows of weeping cherry trees on the north side.
The deep pink flowers are in full bloom, almost touching the ground.

In 2024, a cute arch made of Japanese umbrellas was set up, and many people took pictures there as a photo spot.

Enjoy the fantastically lit cherry blossoms at night!

In 2024, the statue will be lit up for about a week from April 10th, from 6:30pm to 9pm.

Also, there seemed to be food stalls selling crepes and dondon-yaki to coincide with the lighting up period.

Enjoy gourmet food from the food stalls while watching the illuminated cherry blossoms…
This is the perfect spot for a night cherry blossom date.

There is no information yet about the illuminations for 2025, but it will likely be announced based on the state of flowering, so please check the Murayama City website.
