The hotteok is from “Johnno Hotteok” which is also popular in Shin-Okubo!
There are red bean paste and custard flavors, and this time I chose the red bean paste flavor. The outside was crunchy and fragrant, and the inside was filled with sweet red bean paste, so it had just the right amount of sweetness and was easy to eat! I’m impressed that I can eat the same taste as Shin-Okubo while being in Yamagata♪

In addition, Kouraikan’s original ginseng ice cream had no taste and was refreshing and delicious. It’s good for beauty and health, so it’s perfect for dessert.

How to access Roadside Station Tozawa Kouraikan

“Roadside Station Tozawa Kouraikan” is located along National Route 47 and is easily accessible by car.
It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes by car from Yamagata city, and about 30 minutes from Shinjo city.

If you are using public transportation, take the Tozawa village bus from JR Shinjo Station and get off at the Michi-no-Eki Tozawa bus stop, which is right in front of you. We also recommend taking a bus trip while admiring the scenery of the Mogami River.
