As its name suggests, the interior of “Yamagoya” has a warm, log cabin-like atmosphere, with the beautiful wood grain standing out in the interior décor.
The soft light from the lamps hanging from the ceiling gently illuminates the space, creating a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.
The interior is unified with a retro feel, giving it a nostalgic feel, while also creating a stylish space where attention to detail can be seen.

Jazz music plays softly inside the cafe, at just the right volume—neither too loud nor too quiet. This creates a comfortable atmosphere, perfect for eating, reading, or simply taking a break.

The cafe’s charming atmosphere makes you want to stay longer than you think, helping you forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

[Reporter’s Review] Beef curry with plenty of beef

So, this time I looked at the menu and agonized for a while over what to order.
I was interested in the Neapolitan, and the chiffon cake was also appealing. But it was almost lunchtime, so I felt like having something to eat with rice.

Then, suddenly, I noticed a banner advertising beef curry hanging in front of the store!
The moment I saw it, I knew “that’s it!” and asked the owner to place my order.

We arrived at the restaurant just as it was opening, so we asked the owner for permission to take photos while we waited for our food, and we were able to snap some photos of the atmosphere inside the restaurant and the menu.

After a while, the long-awaited “beef curry” arrived!
The potato salad was a nice touch, and it brought a smile to my face.

First, I took a bite of the curry…

It’s frustrating that my vocabulary is so limited that I can only describe it as “delicious!” (lol), but the sweetness of the well-cooked onions spreads throughout your mouth, followed by a slight spiciness.
There was also plenty of beef, which was tender and packed with flavor. It was truly a flawless dish.

Next, we had the potato salad. It was beautifully presented with lettuce and cherry tomatoes, and looked very attractive.
With a smooth texture and gentle flavor, this was also very satisfyingly delicious.

It was a very satisfying lunchtime experience, with such a well-made dish that I’d definitely like to try other items on the menu next time.

One of the most popular items is the chiffon cake, topped with plenty of fluffy cream.

For those who want to visit Yamagoya, here’s how to get there.

If you’re heading from Kaminoyama, turn right onto the toll road at the end of the road, then turn right at the next traffic light. Continue along the highway for a while and turn left at the traffic light.
As of May 31, 2025, there is some road construction work underway in the area.
After continuing along the toll road, turn left at the T-junction with a “Road Closed Due to Construction” sign, which will take you directly in front of the Yamagoya.
